AIRBUS

HEAD OF PROCUREMENT BUSINESS PLANNING & STRATEGY Linked in thumb

Having graduated from Leicester University in the UK, my risk management experience began with BAE SYSTEMS in 1987, working in their corporate insurance and risk management function. As the risk management part of the function expanded, my preference was to work in this domain. Having obtained an Associateship in insurance, it was then necessary to obtain the equivalent risk management qualification. After providing support to all the BAE subsidiaries I joined the Airbus subsidiary in Filton to establish a risk management function. In 2001 I moved to Toulouse as part of the integration of Airbus into a single entity. I continued to work in risk management for a number of years including a secondment as risk manager on the A380 programme! In 2003 I moved into a broader job role related to a major business improvement programme. This experience allowed a move into Procurement to establish and ensure delivery of a further improvement initiative (Power8). I now manage a team covering subjects including strategy, performance management, future programmes and of course, risk management.
